About Calvary Baptist

Calvary Baptist Church is an independent Baptist church, located in Sabetha, Kansas.  We believe in serving God in a fundamental way, adhering only to the Bible as our authority, with the Holy Spirit as our guide, while carrying out the Great Commission. In Matthew, 28:18-20, our Lord said “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  (19)  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  (20)  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.“  Our mission is in preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and instructing families on the Christian Life, therefore building better communities and stronger families.

Each of our services gives one an opportunity to join in singing hymns and spiritual songs. Special music is also accompanied with our worship.

The preaching of the Word of God is the main focus of our service, taken from the Holy Bible and given an application to your Christian life; after which, Pastor Cushman will ask everyone to stand as he gives an invitation.  This is a time for many to respond and make a life-changing decision prompted by the Holy Spirit and God’s Word.  A decision may be by walking down the aisle and praying at the altar to trust Jesus Christ as personal Saviour, or to become a better Christian. Whatever your decision may be, the altar is open to you to join others that will make a decision.

We welcome you to join us in our Worship of Him, who gave all so that we could be saved and have our lives forever changed.  Our God is a mighty God, able to give individuals and families a new start, founded on His Word.  Regardless of the many decisions you will make for your family, we pray the most significant will be for Christ, guided by the Word of God, and instructed through our local church and its Pastor.
